Toderian praised the plan by Westbank Projects to use light boxes to animate a public plaza underneath the Granville Street Bridge as part of Vancouver House. The project’s 52-storey twisting residential is designed by architect Bjarke Ingels.
“It’s very exciting,” he said. “Bjarke’s tower has got a lot of attention but I’ve always been as interested or more interested at what goes on at ground level and underneath the bridge. The idea of turning an underbelly into something special is an example of great place making.”
