Insurance Administrator

Westbank is seeking an energetic self-starter to join our insurance and accounting team and perform in the role of Insurance Administrator. The candidate needs to be well versed in insurance terminology and familiar with the process of arranging and maintaining insurance. Organizational skills will be paramount, as the candidate will need to monitor and maintain the administration for many different projects. Westbank is constantly expanding so we are seeking a candidate that is capable of adapting to change and embracing the challenges and growth opportunities that will come with this.

The candidate will be responsible for the following insurance and accounting related responsibilities:

  • Organize and monitor project timelines and gather information for necessary insurance placement and subsequent extensions
  • Organize reports, information and estimates for all projects ensuring information is organized, accessible and sent to relevant parties as needed
  • Manage auto insurance for Westbank and subsidiaries
  • Manage policies for certain niche Westbank operations, as well as certain Westbank subsidiaries
  • Collaborate with insurance team and assist in projects and claims meetings
  • Review and approve certificates of insurance
  • Request and distribute required Westbank certificates of insurance
  • Coordinate invoices and track payments
  • Manage receipt of claim payments
  • Work with accounting staff to maintain various Excel based database information
  • Assist accounting and insurance staff on filing, meeting minutes and other administrative activities, as required

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Experience in an admin capacity at a brokerage or as an underwriting assistant
  • In the process of completing, or having completed the CIP designation
  • Proficiency in computer skills including the ability to create and manage spreadsheets on Excel
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to adapt to multiple demands, set priorities and achieve results on a timely basis
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Additional Assets Include:

  • Completion of insurance-specific education
  • Experience with construction insurance and/or large residential property insurance
  • Familiarity with D&O, E&O, Pollution insurance
