The Palisades

This high-end residential development on Alberni Street is comprised of two elliptical towers containing 272 homes. The development of this project was undertaken by Westbank projects on behalf of the Kuok Group of Hong Kong.

Developing the Palisades involved the implosion of three existing high-rises on the site. One of the largest implosions of its type, it was a harrowing experience which fortunately, went fairly well.

Gwen Boyle’s installation, New Currents and Ancient Streams, was our first foray into the public art scene. While not as ambitious as our later work, it is consistent with the maturity of the team at the time. It’s an elegant piece that complemented the strong landscape architecture of the project.
